The concept is simple enough. Based on the same platform as the Mercedes ML and GL 4x4s the R-Class aims to package the space of an MPV, the all-wheel-drive reassurance of a 4×4, the practicality of an estate and the class of a saloon all under the same extremely long roof. The driver is treated to a highly adaptable driving position thanks to an electrically-adjustable seat and a steering wheel that adjusts for height and reach. It’s a wide car, so there is plenty of room and the driver never feels crowded. The switch and button layout is excellent – they’re well grouped and easy to use. Also, like other recent Mercedes-Benz models, it’s clear with classy-looking controls. It comfortably seats 5 passengers with all their luggage, as the boot size is enormous and it has got additional storage compartment under the boot floor that adds 75-litres of space. If you want something sleeker than the usual people carriers and not as bulky as a traditional 4×4, the R-Class could be the answer.
Our model is in a lovely condition, it comes with long MOT and 2 sets of keys. This car is perfect for long motorway run, so would make a great car for summer travels.
